FAA Input for SMS Pro's SMS Guidelines
Millions of dollars have been spent in analyzing ways to promote aviation safety. SMS Pro uses SMS guidelines provided by well respected authorities. Our SMS Resources list SMS guidelines we have reviewed and attempted to implement in SMS Pro.
FAA's SMS guidelines are found in AC 120-92. For reference, we also haveFAA's SMS GuideBook, which may help you unravel the convoluted verbiage found in AC 120-92.
ICAO SMS Guidelines
Different methodologies arise when researching the most effective SMS guidelines. We have adapted SMS checklists created by CASA. CASA's SMS provided us an important tool to discover the shortcomings of SMS Pro and allowed us to develop new functionality. In addition to CASA, we also used the ICAO SMS guidelines to and created a useful GAP Analysis tool that has been implemented into SMS Pro.
